GermanOperaSinger
I'm a quiet guy with a deep appreciation for the art of singing. I also study history as a hobby, particularly Germany's military exploits in the two World Wars.
I'm American, not German. 'German' is in my username because I study German history. I would prefer messages sent to me to be in English, although I don't mind reading German.

Wonder if anyone is still following this channel? Singing 'Che gelida manina' from La Boheme and the Lamento di Federico 'È la solita storia del pastore' from L'arlesiana. Recorded in living room. Photo by me. Post a comment, if you so desire. Hope everyone is well.

In memoriam (* 25 March 1910; † 8 September 2014) "I wasn't frightened because I never felt like I was singing. I felt like I was acting. My technique was so solid, I never had to think about it." Selections from Adriana Lecouvreur, Manon Lescaut, Tosca, and Otello.
Carlo Bergonzi sings Verdi (live at the Met)

In memoriam (* 13 July 1924; † 25 July 2014) I don't post often anymore because there isn't much I have that hasn't already been posted by others on youtube. But Carlo Bergonzi's art meant such a great deal to me, so I decided eventually to post this short tribute. Selections from Aida, Ballo, and Trovatore, all from early 1960s Met performances. I would have added more but there is a 15 minute...
David Nadien plays Sarasate Zigeunerweisen (live)
In memoriam (* 12 March 1926; † 28. May 2014) One of the greatest violinists of the 20th century, David Nadien played as concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein from 1966 to 1970. This is the best rendition of Sarasate's 'Gypsy Airs' I've ever heard.

Does it fall at all? Just throwing out some of my bizarre thoughts for fun. I'm not sure I believe this myself. I would though, appreciate any well-reasoned criticism to this idea. There's more to this argument, but I didn't have time to make a longer video. When taken to its final conclusion, its basically arguing for subjective idealism. *I can no longer post videos over 15 minutes because of...

If the lossy audio quality doesn't bother you, there are hours and hours of great music on this site, all just a click away. Massive thanks to all of you collectors generous enough to share your vast m...

You really should NOT describe Jussi Bjorling as a German opera singer !
True talent I was born in Macon Ga The big house museum is there today an old Allman Brothers home I was only ten at my first show in Macon coliseum few years ago went to Greg’s funeral at Rose Hill cemetery makes me proud to see new shows like this ! What talent and boy was I finally glad to be born in Macon long live the Brothers now it is Derrick Trucks going ahead son of drummer Butch Trucks and other drummer Jaimo and Ckuck Levell left Ride on!!
Like jussi i Like a drink I am just out the pub he is the greatest
My late teacher (a very talented tenor) always said that Bergonzi was the greatest tenor ever to sing Puccini. I can't disagree. I heard his final recital at Covent Garden and it was unbelievably stylish and beautiful.
on the last chorus he couldn,t match lanza,s 2 high notes . these 2 note are remarkable
La classe...💔
Ach Gott, was hatten wir für Schätze in unserem Land!
anybody has the lyrics for this?
Continuo apreciando mais Maria Callas !!!
Brava, Diva!
Perfeito❤🎶👏👏👏🩵🇧🇷
Wonderful! Best I ever heard from Tebaldi.
Great in the Studio! Great Live! Sounds Like Master Duane Is Still Alive and Well on this One! This Was one of the Most Complex Blues Band Ever With Only a Handful of Rivals.
The world's greatest living tenor depends on the day, on who is in the best voice. Pavarotti, Domingo, Kaufmann have each had incredible periods, not to mention Villazon. Appreciate when all comes together and they are miraculous
Yep
Amor santo te quiero Luciano ❤️💕💖💖💖💕💕
Excelente!
Unless this was from painters mill in Md then it wasn’t his last
On the BBC radio programme, Desert Island Discs, Jose Carreras stated that in the business Bjorling was known as "the voice".
Once was enough for me. I heard his "Je crois entendre " and that was it. Kraus became gold standard. Kraus is insuperable in a lot of arias.
Ella es maravillosa
Did any soprano have a more sheerly beautiful low register than Tebaldi? Effortless, yet still powerful and feminine.
Bk
Only Tebaldi 💜
Having known Licia Albanese quite well, and prizing this recording as I did (and still do), I was surprised when she told me that she didn't like it because her voice was not sufficiently developed. She preferred her 1946 recording with Jan Peerce as Rodolfo, and Toscanini conducting. To my ears, Jan Peerce was an excellent tenor and first-rate artist, but there was only one Beniamino Gigli.
No comments for a year😢
Too fast in my opinion - - they can barely get the words out.
❤❤❤❤
1936
Beautiful.Thank you for posting.❤
LA VOCE BELLISSIMA E POTENTE DEL PIU' GRANDE TENORE DEL MONDO BENIAMINO GIGLI. MAURIZIO E PAOLO D'ARMI DI L'AQUILA
Listen to Eugene Conley sing this same Piece!
The most beautiful tenor voice,he just wraps his voice around your very soul
Love Classical Music
Exquisite.Thank you for posting✿
The best version that this aria is with Pavarotti
Does anyone know what the words are at 1:28? "Safe…?"
